This is the first installment of 4th & Dwa which will be a weekly NFL column from yours truly @Dwavocalz. I have already put out some NFL content before, but I finally decided to give it a name. I will mainly touch on New York Giants news, NFL betting (my favorite sport to bet) and whatever else floats my boat with what is going on around the NFL.

What better way to start off my new column, by showing a clip of one of the greatest moments in my life, as well as the GREATEST Super Bowl moment of all time.

2020 Offseason

Now that this is done, let’s talk about the Giants in free agency this offseason. Let me start by saying, I love what they are doing because it finally seems as though the Giants are sticking to a plan and getting players that fit the plan; the plan is to have blue collar guys and size. This offseason has been highlighted with the signings of linebacker Blake Martinez, cornerback James Bradberry, defensive lineman Leonard Williams, and getting swing tackle Cameron Fleming (SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THAT MEANS).

The acquisition of Martinez and Bradberry confused me at first because they were both the second-best free agents at their position (Cory Littleton was the best LB and Byron Jones was the best CB) and NYG only paid about 1.5 million dollars less per year. However, I eventually loved the signings.

Martinez literally tackles everything in sight. If NYG can find a way to hide his lack of coverage ability and hopefully draft Isaiah Simmons, they have the perfect run stopper.

Bradberry does not have the massive stats to be known as an elite corner, but he is extremely solid. Bradberry held his own in the Carolina Panthers secondary versus the likes of Julio Jones, Mike Evans and Michael Thomas, who he lined up against twice a year. Signing Bradberry also takes the pressure of Deandre Baker, who I expect a giant leap from in 2020. Lastly, I love the contracts.

All four guys are on short contracts, thus if they happen to miss on these acquisitions, they can easily move on after two seasons.

Williams was a must sign, which I stated in one of my previous articles. Making sure Williams signed solidifies the Giants front three. I expect the Giants to have a top 10 run defense in 2020, but the defense could still use some pass rushers and they may need their young guys to step up.
