The big news was Brittney Griner FINALLY being freed. Black Twitter can never take anything seriously so of course we had people talmbout how Joey B will never be mistaken for a GM with such a bad trade. Morocco made history as the first African nation to make the semi-finals of the World Cup in their upset over Portugal. Warnock – well really Georgia voters – saved us, and the Republican Party, from having to drink through a Herschel Walker Senate regime. What a week, let’s get to it!

I mean, duh! Ultimately this won’t mean much in terms of unraveling Donnie Diamondz. The punishment is only expected to cost Trump’s companies a whole $1 million, light work for our former fearless leader. It’s the principle of the whole thang. Even knowing Donnie’s chin can be touched like this is all we need to crumble the whole empire. Maybe we’ll get Trump Steaks back, that’s what I’m rooting for.
We Love To See Black Excellence
This is dope. I know nothing of Earle, AR and it doesn’t matter. Good for this young Black king for seeing issues in his town and stepping up to do something about it. Even if it’s getting a grocery store and creating opportunities for the youth in his municipality, any step forward is a step in the right direction.
Free BG Til It’s Backwards

I really pray for BG’s mental health. Whatever you feel about what she did to end up being a political pawn and prisoner of war is your own thoughts, but man what a fucked up situation to end up in. Jail and prison in the United States is one thing, and that one thing being modernized slavery – that’s another post for another day. But to be imprisoned in another country and looking at 9 years with no knowledge of when you may be coming home??? Unreal. And I’m sure there will be PTSD for the rest of her life off this insanely traumatic event that no one can relate to or begin to understand what she’s been through. So I pray for her comfort and for even a small amount of ‘normalcy’ to return to her life back here in the States.

There were quite a few options to go with this week including Earthquake Bed and Derrick Jaxn’s divorce but this felt interesting given this week’s title. Like other Blacks, I like seeing Black excellence. However, we have to be honest with ourselves about some of our motivations for things. For instance, do you really want ‘equality’ or do you want to be able to do heinous acts white people do and ‘get away with it as equally’? The music industry is known for its nastiness overall, but there’s a different yuckiness when looking at Black art in particular. It gets even more grotesque when it’s Black people being the one’s leading another young Black talent to slaughter. But I’ve chatted a bit about that before…
