The multi-talented Long Beach, California-based rapper, producer, clothing designer, and community activist Joey Fatts is releasing a new track along with a video this Friday called “Bright Lights” featuring Allyn. It’s a highly catchy and memorable record that features Joey’s succinct flow and heartfelt lyrics with an accompanying visual showcasing Joey in his most comfortable state: surrounded by peers and intimately involved in community affairs. It starts with Long Beach locals praising Joey for all the good he’s done for his community and then cuts between scenes of him on a horse, him with his homies, him relaxing in a swimming pool, all while tapered down in an all-black suit. Alynn’s heavenly vocals help set the tone for this track, too, with hard bars masked behind a beautiful melody, “Keep all of that fake sh*t from ‘round me/Rather be alone all I got is me/Never needed sh*t from nobody/ ‘Cause I had to get it on my own.” The new record will be off Joey Fatts’ upcoming self-released mixtape, QUICCSAND, which is set to release on 3/18.
