Will there be an NFL season in 2020? Only the lord knows, but fortunately for us the NFL released the 2020 regular season schedule. On this installment of 4th & Dwa, I will go over the outlook for my New York Football Giants 2020 schedule
My initial reaction to the schedule is it is brutal. The Giants play the NFC East per usual, AFC North, NFC North, NFC West and Tom Brady’s Bucs as the lone NFC South team. Prior to looking at every individual game, my expectations were for the Giants to go 8-8 this season.
The over under for the season win/loss total has been set at 6. The public is hammering the under, so the Giants have to find a way to get over that number.
Okay, hear me out! The Giants are going 10-6. Call me CRAZY!
The Giants open at home versus the overrated Steelers. The Steelers are a season too late on Big Ben. The Giants are currently 3.5-point dogs. Look for them to not only cover, but win out right!
The Chicago Bears stink and this may be the first game we see Nick Foles get playing time as the Bears starting QB. Giants will probably be road dogs and win.
After starting 2-0, the NFL and Vegas will not know whether or not the Giants are the real deal. I assume they will be 5.5-point dogs to the defending NFC Champions, the San Francisco 49ers. I do believe in the curse of teams who lose in the Super Bowl the year prior. Giants OUTRIGHT!
Teams struggle traveling east to west. Because of that, Giants will lose their first game to Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams.
Big road game versus the Cowboys. Yes, I think Dak Prescott is better than Carson Wentz despite thinking both QBs stink, BUT the Giants will lose one on the road here.
It’s the Washington Redskins…Giants by three scores.
The Eagles and Wentz finds a way to beat NYG, which truthfully, he has done his whole career.
I do not think the Buccaneers will be as good as everyone else is saying. They will probably be like the Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce Nets; a playoff team, but not a championship team. However, the Bucs have enough to beat the Giants this week.
Again…it’s the Redskins. Giants sweep them!
Giants finally get revenge on Wentz and they beat the Eagles at home.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be a lot better than people think, but the Giants will find a way to win this trap game coming off of the BYE.
Giants will not be able to go East to West after a trap game. NYG will probably lose focus and get beat by Russell Wilson’s Seattle Seahawks.
The Arizona Cardinals. This was the toughest game for me to pick. If the Cardinals are as good as they can be with the additions this offseason and head coach Kliff Kingbury having another year of coaching under his belt, then the Giants will lose. I just believe it is too good to be true, the Giants will have enough to lock this win in at home.
The Cleveland Browns stink. Giants grab a “W” here.
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will be too much for NYG in this matchup.
The Cowboys will have nothing to play for after clinching a bye and the Giants will lock up the Wild Card spot here.
I still cannot believe the Giants will go 10-6, but I do believe that a lot of these games are winnable, especially after the Giants made a lot of improvements this summer. I am used to being disappointed by the Giants as of late, BUT I am confident they will compete for a Wild Card spot this season. Make sure you follow me for all things NYG this season.
